Our Camp Counseling and Program Staff
Plantation’s staff is approximately 50 people who are exciting, vibrant, and committed to helping kids have a great summer. The counseling, support, and administrative staff come from all over the US, as well as other countries such as New Zealand, Australia, England, and South Africa. We strive to have a diverse staff and to build a strong, supportive community. You will create a safe and rewarding experience for the campers as you make great friends and learn much more than you would expect. The skills that make a great counselor are critical to success in any future career that you choose.
Your fellow counselors will be backpackers, horseback riders, certified lifeguards, musicians, artists, Wilderness First Responders and teachers. The common thread is that you will create a safe and rewarding experience for the campers as you make great friends and learn much more than you would expect. * Hiring preference will be given to staff members who can work all summer. Work Camp, during which you set up camp, is a great way to meet fellow staffers and get acquainted with Plantation. It entails hard physical work transforming the farm into a kids’ camp. Positions at Work Camp will be by invitation, based on your work experience. Mini Camp is a one week session that introduces Plantation to younger, first-time campers. Family Camp is the culmination of the summer and gives you a
chance to be more of a guide at Plantation, helping families enjoy Plantation as much as their children have. Working for only one camper session is difficult to accomodate and must be discussed with the directors in advance.
