Theater at Plantation Farm Camp

Hello 2011 Plantation campers from Michelle! This summer has many fun activities in store for us and I’m very excited that you are going to be a part of the action and the excitement that camp has to offer!

What do flying ninja monkeys, banana slugs, and Little Red Riding Hood all have in common? That’s right they have all been characters in Plantation’s own original drama productions. As a counselor, dramas are some of my favorite activities to lead! When I was younger my grandfather, a theater professor, took me to see different plays and musicals including Peter Pan, Into the Woods, and many more. However, Plantation dramas, which are frequently performed throughout each session, are unique because we (the campers and counselors) get to write them! In fact we write the drama and perform it in a time period of one and half days. WOW, that must be a record!

From writing, to stage props, to costumes, we plan and put it all together. We need campers who love to plan the drama, assist backstage, and even perform many different roles in each of our dramas. I’m so excited to direct another fabulous drama this summer. o, don’t be shy, step right up, get your creative juices flowing and get ready for a summer of the best Plantation dramas ever! Lights…camera… ACTION (Plantation style)!
