A wet weekend on the farm
Posted By: Kelly Marston
After such a dry summer, a million reminders to conserve water, and to take tea-cup showers I'm sure that it is hard to imagine the farm soaking wet. This weekend, John, Reilly, Aidan and I dodged bursts of rain while we were taking care of the animals and getting the garden ready for winter. During the periods

of sunshine we were able to get many projects done, including trimming Topaz's and Onyx's hooves.
On Sunday, Nell, Tony, Michaela, and Abigail joined us. With their help we harvested hundreds of carrots, tomatoes, peppers, and squash. So now the garden is ready to rest and the goats and chickens will have quite a feast cleaning up any plants and vegetables we left.

Do you see the hearts that these carrots formed? We know that there was a lot of love that went into the garden this year and this is just one little sign.
The farm is beginning to be green again after a long, dry summer. The animals are doing well though they clearly miss everyone as they are very happy to see us and come over to get some love and attention.
