Campership Program

One of the ideals that has remained constant at Plantation is the Campership Program. Continuing the traditions of Abe and Eve Crittenden, Dave and Ginny Crittenden, and David and Suzanne Brown, we feel that a diverse camper population is vital to the Plantation experience. Plantation was founded on the idea that children from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds can live, work and learn together as a cohesive community. Despite changing times, we consider it important to incorporate these ideals as Plantation has done since its inception.

We take this responsibility seriously. To ensure our Campership Program will be sustainable for years to come, we are asking our alumni and camp families to support this crucial program. Our current needs require $85,000 a year to meet our goal of having 25% of our campers benefit from campership funds. Some families need full tuition while others make significant contributions and our funds made up the difference. Some older returning campers are so committed to returning that they earn money to contribute to their tuition. Individual camperships are reevaluated on a yearly basis to access the changing financial needs of each family. Our evaluation process has been refined to assure we have the pertinent information needed to accurately distribute the funds available.
